Deadly Shooting in Canada’s Tumbler Ridge Leaves Ten Dead

(MENAFN) Ten people, including the suspected shooter, have died following an active shooter incident in Tumbler Ridge, a town in Canada’s western province of British Columbia, reports indicate.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed that nine victims and the suspect were killed. Six victims were found inside Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, one died while being transported to a hospital, and two others were found at a nearby residence believed to be connected to the shooting. Authorities said the suspect died inside the school from a "self-inflicted injury."

Around 25 individuals were assessed for injuries at a local medical facility. A shelter-in-place order covering Tumbler Ridge and surrounding areas was lifted around 6:45 p.m. local time.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
